Tennis
Having played Tennis at Junior Wimbledon and competed at National Junior level, Jan Keller has both the practical experience and vast coaching knowledge to pass on to his clients.
Having obtained a National Coaching Qualification and having the benefit of working alongside some of the top Tennis coaches in the country, Jan has been able to combine his experience and expertise in Strength & Conditioning along with some of the very best of British coaches.
Jan is currently the Head Conditioning Coach of a National Tennis Academy. His role within this academy is to work with his players on improving their individual movement patterns, court endurance, speed/agility and al-round Tennis specific fitness. He also works 1-2-1 with some of his top players to enable the individuals to work on strength and conditioning in a gym environment. Due to the nature and physical demands of Tennis today, the players need to be strong, adapt to various playing surfaces and also possess essential qualities such as speed of movement, agility, power and stamina.
By using his in-depth knowledge of Strength & Conditioning and Tennis specific coaching methods, Jan really does bring out the very best in his players.
Jan concentrates not only on the individuals fitness, weather it be on court or in a gym, but he also works with the players on their diet and nutrition. By being the head conditioning specialist, it is Jan’s responsibility to nurture and guides the players in both a physical and nutritional manner. After all, in a sport that is so physically demanding like Tennis, it is vital that the player not only puts 100% into their physical training, but also re-charges the body in recovery, this is gained by correct and effective nutrition.
Jan has had almost twenty years of experience within the sport of Tennis. He works with World Ranked players who are striving to become the next Roger Federer of the Tennis world.
By training with Jan, the player can guarantee that he/she will be receiving the very best that can be gained from a Tennis specific conditioning programme.
The individual will have a consistent nutritional programme to follow, a specific and tailored strength & conditioning programme and fitness appraisals at regular intervals to monitor and measure fitness improvements.
Training with Jan is hard, but with the confidence he gives you through his short-term goal setting and strategic programme planning, you will be glad you made the effort.
Rugby Union
Having played for both Gloucester and Bath academies during his younger years, Jan has a wealth of experience and coaching knowledge in the sport of Rugby Union. He also played for Manly Rugby Club, Australia, the famous club where Sir Clive Woodward played in the 80’s.
Having had the practical experience at the top level of the sport, he then decided to use this experience to go into the coaching field. He gained a level 2 coaching qualification and directed his knowledge at bringing on the future of England’s talent.
Through his expertise in the Strength & Conditioning field of fitness training, Jan has worked with some of the world’s best players. He has an impressive repertoire of clients, ranging from seasoned Internationals to British Lion’s representatives.
Most of his clients are of International level. Jan focuses not only on increasing their power, speed and strength in the gym, but before any of this can be achieved, it is essential that the body is strong as a whole unit. Jan achieves this through a postural correction-training programme. Jan will assess the player posturally, identify weaknesses and imbalances (more apparent for props) and then design a correctional programme to strengthen and correct any weaknesses and defects throughout the kinetic chain of the body. This will have a massive reduction on the risk of picking up any injury, something that is usually a common occurrence in Rugby.
Once the posture is solid and strong as a whole, the fun can then begin.
Jan is an expert in designing invigorating and explosive movement sequences. Strength training is one of Jan’s favourite aspects to physical fitness. He will prescribe the player a cycle of training programmes (depending on what stage of the season they are in) focusing on an arrangement of strength, power, speed, agility and muscular endurance programmes. Each phase of training will be specific for the time of season the player is in Eg. Pre-season the player would be working on strength and CV fitness, mid-season the player would focus on strength endurance and rugby specific drills.
Jan’s enthusiasm and knowledge of Rugby is outstanding, he lives and breaths Rugby.
If you are looking to improve on your performance, even at a lower level of rugby, Jan will guarantee that your goals will be realised.
He will help you increase muscle mass, speed, agility, power, give you sound advice on nutrition and diet, advise you on sports supplements, all the essential elements that are vital in rugby these days.
His track record of clients is impressive; he has trained and worked with the very best. Why don’t you use his talents and be one of those clients?
If you want the very best results, you have to earn them!!
